Wow...

I cannot describe the busy week I've had! I actually went out of my house to a different place and socialized with people! Aaaaaand now I'm back. So anyway, I thought I'd post a little about my summer reading list! I haven't been doing much writing lately, although it's dwelling in the back of my mind, so I'm hoping a little trip to Italy for a couple of weeks will let me really focus on it :) So anyway, I wanted to keep my reading varied, cause I never know what kind of mood I'll be in, but I can tell you now I shall NOT be taking the 5O Shades of suck series. Enough said. So I will of course be taking Game of Thrones, and carry on reading that, but also I'll be taking Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, A Weekend with Mr Darcy, The Tempest graphic novel, The Lucky Ones, and The Lord of the Rings, the Fellowship of the Ring. So I chose The Lucky Ones mainly because I saw the movie was out, and I fancied a bit of a chick flick romance to read, as a guilty pleasure, I mean after the Notebook, A Walk to Remember, and The Last Song, how could I resist? I think I followed the same path with A Weekend with Mr Darcy. Now this was only £1, and it doesn't have great reviews, but I think it'll wind up being one of those things you just fancy reading sometimes. In fact I started it, and if you find it for over £1, I wouldn't say buy it, it's not fantastic :') So anyway, I only just ordered P&P and Zombies the other day, but I am a bit of a fan of the original, and of zombies, so what could go wrong? It's by Seth Grahame-Smith, the author of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, so I have biiig expectations of it. I got the manga version f the Tempest by Shakespeare in The British Museum in London, because I absolutely love Shakespeare, and I love anime and manga too, so why not? I had a quick flick through and the illustrations are amazing, so I'm really looking forward to reading it. Finally, my two fantasies don't really need an introduction, Tolkien is God of all fantasy, and his novels could never be topped. If you'r unsure about whether to read them, do. They're fantastic. And as I said in the other blog post, Game of Thrones is still fantastic :) So! That's my reading list, so far anyway, I'll post a little review of them all when I get back :) Oh and if you're interested in any of the books, comment below and I'll give you some more information on them and where to get them :) Have a nice summer! <3

Blogging? Oh yeah, I do that...

  Ah! I haven't posted in over a month, but now exams are over and I can go back to my long neglected life, I shall return. I haven't written in a few days, but I've decided after a weeny bit of writer's block on the story I was working on to start side stories, that will (perhaps) one day live life as a fully fledged piece of work! Possibly... You see the problem is, I'm not too good at finishing work. Each new thing I start I'm sure will last and I'll finish, but I never seem to. Here's hoping this will stay out in the long term, hopefully keeping on track by writing the side stories will help too.
  Also, I appear to have completely caved in to trashy romance novels. Stocking up on my summer reading to take across Europe this year, books such as The Lucky One and Stupid Cupid are making an appearance. Because of this invasion of womanly romance seeking (although not quite so far as Mills & Boon...) I would like to discuss one of my favourite books of all time, Bridget Jones's Diary. Although I can see why you would automatically label it as trashy romance, I have read this book, gained from my aunt, so many times that is is almost falling apart, as you may be able to see from the picture. I love it. The Pride and Prejudice puns of Mr Darcy, continued to the sequel where she meets Colin Firth, along with the loveability(?) of Bridget herself are factors which just make this book a winner. Many female leads of cosmopolitan novels like this one are meant to be, less that perfect, relate-able(?), and portrayed as the average woman, who doesn't always look slim, perfect and poised. The only problem is, their not. Bridget is the ultimate, slightly pudgy, bad hair days, real woman that we look for but do not find in books. When she goes out she isn't transformed into a drop dead gorgeous, poised woman, she's quite the obvious, without going the other way in falling over tables. Now I could make many reasoned, well thought out interpretations of why Bridget Jones is part book, part life force, but the fact of the matter is, it's just a really great book, and will always be one of my favourites. I hope you can see past the made up words and mumbles in the post to visit me again, where I shall try to post more frequently.

Names boy! You want names?!


  Ludicrous jumped up figments of my imagination. Names can be hard. But when you get them, its great. I realised names must now be applied, as the aforementioned 'Sauerkraut' can only go so long until my mind is very confused. Of course I went to fantasy nerd Boyfriend for help, provided him with a list for each major character and a highlighter, and I can successfully say he stopped me naming a valiant king something that sounded awfully like 'Boris'. I find it rather easy to distinguish if a name is right or wrong for a character, however there tends to end up with about 10 'rights' and narrowing down isn't quite so easy, what do other people think, is naming easy for you? Of to troll some fantasy sights for some place names now then, and write up the immense amount of stuff I have in my writing notepad... If I'd spent more time writing up and less time on net-a-porter.com last night perhaps I wouldn't be in this predicament... TTFN :) <3

Sometimes, you just have to realise people aren't worth it and move on in the hope that one day they'll grow up.

  But keep them on social networking sites in order to witness their misfortune in future ;) Recently my life has turned into an episode of Real Housewives, which can have a marvellous effect on your writing, you can either launch yourself into in and change the anger into creativity, or you can just lollop. I appear to do the latter. But some people aren't worth it, and when you have others that are ten times better, you don't need their drama :)
  In other news, I recently bought the first two Game of Thrones books, and I'm not very far in but I can say they are amazing so far, I'd fully recommend them :) After finishing Pet Semetary I can say its definitely one of my favourite books, but I'm not sure I I was totally satisfied by the ending? Leaves me wanting more, which I give credit to Stephen King for completely! Can't shake the link in Under the Dome to The Simpsons Movie though... Ciao lovelies :) <3

Hellooo! It feels like I haven't posted in a while but I'm not sure, I didn't check I just came straight on to write this post, but anyway. I've been rather busy lately, 3 hour history exams and coursework and stuff, as many have, so I haven't had time to write stuff (also, Sonic R came yesterday, so I've been hooked on that, even though it only plays small screen after I fiddled with programmes on windows 7, argh!) I've also been a little hooked on make up and hair tutorials on YouTube (check out makemeupology if you're interested, I love her.)
So recently I've been reading Pet Semetary, and I have to say I /loved/ it. If you haven't read it you absolutely have to, I think it's definitely one of Stephen King's best works. He manages to make foreshadowing really subtle which I love, I seem to find it so hard! It just looks obvious and I feel like Khaled Hosseini "He walked out of there like a man just cured by cancer" Boom. He later dies of cancer. Just doesn't work for me. What do you think anyway, easy or difficult? But I would definitely recommend the book and if you've read it feel free to comment with your thoughts :) Buuut I haven't finished it! So no spoilers ;)
  Took the commitment plunge to my most recent piece and gave it to Boyfriend to read. I keep him pretty much up to date with my writings but I'm always just a little on edge to let people read stuff I've written... He is always very lovely, and isn't one to criticize but I still love to bask in the positive feedback for a little while ^-^ Although it's good to get a nice snappy critique, a bit of appreciation can be just what you need too sometimes :)
  Ooh, also I have noticed that even when I don't publish anything for a couple of days my page views seem to keep going up a few each day, so yay if people are actually enjoying what I've scrawled here, and if you happen to stumble across and you're interested feel free to follow me and get chatting! :) In the meantime, as this post is a bit of garbled nonsense with no discernible critical point, enjoy a picture of the beautiful Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson. You know you've been writing too long when you look up, find you've written the word 'reeaytn' and have absolutely no idea what it's meant to be...

Safe to say I departed the library at that moment, and headed for lunch, you can only write about the marvelous works of Edgar Allan Poe for so long before your brain melts out of your ear and you realise you are a true genius. Say, I wonder, am I the only one who gets swayed so easily from what I'm doing, writing wise? Deeply immersed in a fantasy short story of the days of old, then I watch Interview with the Vampire and that's it, I wanna write vamps instead! I've never written about vampires before though, I must say, despite the fact it is the trend, that is one thing I haven't done... Anyone else broached the subject? I don't think I could match up the current market of True Blood and the like, however. Alas, no. I shall be sticking to my ground this time. Right? I hope so...
Also, you may have notice I rather enjoy putting pictures with my blog posts. I feel like without them, the post would be a weary ghoul of a thing, lacking all substance and glamour, and the skeletal words which form it's frame would have no glossy idol to look up to and compliment them. That and GIFs ar kewl. Anyway, enough of my incessant rambling for now, tata! :) <3

Bleh...

Feeling let down makes it hard to write when you're feeling sad and annoyed :/ I tried using it to throw myself into working, on both college work and my writing, but I don't really feel like it... Dip dying my hair violet makes me feel better :) but you know when people who should give a crap just... don't? With no logical reason either? It helps to have a friend on your side of the fence feeling the same as you <3 Ugh, I sound weepy, better change the subject, sorry. Names, are so hard sometimes. I seem to be able to either completely nail them or have literally none at all. Although as fellow blogger (check her out - http://bellicles.blogspot.co.uk/) and kindred spirit taught me one day at the college library, 'If in doubt, Sauerkraut!' using the word Sauerkraut to replace each and every name you can't think of, genius! Better than big blank spaces... However when my lovely other half reads my work he tends to get rather confused, especially as right now every single person and place holds said name... Hmmm... Better get onto that... On the plus side, scrolling through puppy pics to find one for this post! :3 TTFN! <3

Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him... Actually, he's imaginary... 

Don't you just hate killing off nice characters? Killing off any characters, I'm useless! Always stalling with pointless dialogue. Tolkien must've bawled when he sent those arrows in Boromir's chest. Oooh Sean Bean... Anway, I figure this must be a pretty common problem, killing off a character only 3,000 words into my wee fantasy story and yet I still don't want to do it! It is pivotal that he dies. If he lives, there is no story. But he's just so friendly! Ah, it is a shame. But the story itself is coming on okay, very clear it was inspired by Midas and Macbeth (villains eh? Always begin with 'M'. Sometimes. Care to name any more?) And I've delved into the Southern Gothic Sookie Stackhouse books again! On Club Dead now, if you haven't read them, do. I fully reccomend it. And watch the TV series. And read the comic. And buy a Merlottes T Shirt. Anyone'd think I was Charlaine Harris! So if you want a taste of true vampires (mentioning no names ;) ) get yourself over to True Blood! Mmm, Eric... P.S, I adore Zooey Deschanel. Hence the GIF. Love her too. ^-^ <3

And so it begins... 

History coursework deadline is on Monday, the first day back at college, I have done an astoundingly small amount of work this holiday and now I appear to be in trouble... Two literature pieces to do as well... Ah... But anyway. As many other people who like writing may know, inspiration can strike at any time. Unfortunately with it comes the burning question, do you carry on the piece you'r doing and come back to it later, or do you drop your current piece and start up the new one? Yes, I have sunk back into fantasy, an idea that struck me about a month ago that I briefly scribbled down has blossomed and taken over my brain. I remember this question being tackled if my memory doesn't deceive me, by the resilient and everlasting hero of our childhoods, Jacqueline Wilson( who impressively comes up first on Google suggestions when you put in 'Jac'. On Blue Peter she was posed this and answered, write it down, in as much detail as you can, and come back to it later, otherwise your other story will most probably fall out of favour and it will be hard to get back into it. I want to take this advice, but staring blankly at the screen/page most of the time, it's hard not to revert back into the mindset of 'At least now I'm writing something...' After another short and sweet blog post, I shall now attempt to redraft my coursework in the same dedicated manner as I do my rants. Adieu! <3

A little background, perhaps?

  Well. Let's see now. Being as you are taking the time out to read this, I might as well tell you a little. I've written little bits and bobs since I was in single figures, scraps of which I still find in my fluffy Pink Panther notebook (yay! :3) and even declared myself 'Illustrator' sometimes, of the wobbly drawing of red giraffes. Fantasy had always been my stomping ground, and it's an understatement to say I'm an avid reader of it. I've wanted to write fantasy for years, but my pile of unfinished works grew ever larger, and eventually the imagination came to a grinding halt and my writing stopped altogether. However the saviour that is college came and with my new found literature friends came the writing again, happily ever after!
  My most recent project came as quite a turnaround, as I swapped the distant lands, swords and magic for a more contemporary modern story. A little clichéd perhaps, but here resides my fresh faced anime feel, Mystery, solved! A just out of university girl into the world of hired investigators, it's not a work of art, but it keeps me busy. And quirky characters with cheating millionaire husbands and lost dogs allows a little room for domestic conspiracy.
  Anyhow, that's my writingness. I chose the pseudonym Claudia Loreweaver with fantasy in mind, and I might delve back into my less realistic world soon, I hope so, as my fascination with the strange, obscure and mystical goes back to my roots, and I sincerely hope it drives my future too :) Thanks for reading :3 <3

 With Easter comes procrastination it seems... My lack of writing extends to all forms of coursework as well as my pieces, and it's an uphill struggle to get back, as everyone knows. After drowning myself in chocolate I shall now resurface and attack (or possibly faceplant) the keyboard! *insert war cry here* ...hopefully.
  However a popular problem comes back that I assume most writers face... This story that I appear to be writing, is it good? Do I want to continue it? After immersing myself in the works of J. R. R. Tolkien for a while, fantasy draws me back, it is what I've always written, afterall? So what is this modern anime-inspired nonsense? Do I carry it on, or tell myself I'll come back to it, and add it to the ever-growing pile of aborted projects?
  This will take some thought. Not my strong point... Well, much love :) <3

You know when you just stop...

Well, I really really cannot be bothered to write :') Once you stop, it's so hard to get motivated! Even when you have a blog to rant to :') After a rather unsuccessful bleach and  dip dye this weekend, which turned out not as bad as I thought? I'm spending my evenings watching Whitechapel and eating out of date creme eggs I got free from work... On the plus side, check out Caitlin Moran's How To Be A Woman, I'm reading it now, and it's fab! A little bit of feminism, but no 'MEN MUST DIIEE' so far, so it's all good :) Although I find aspects of her life rather similar to mine... But yeah, check it out :) <3

Might as well try it :') I am Kayleigh, although I rather like the pseudonym Claudia Loreweaver ^-^ I write, I read, I work... but mainly waste time...
